NBA: MVP Jokic Leads the Nuggets to Game 4 Victory
DENVER - In a game that could potentially shift the series, the Denver Nuggets managed to tie it up. The Timberwolves' wolf-pack-like defense faltered, allowing MVP Nikola Jokić to lead the Nuggets to victory. This was a masterclass in how to combat the best defense in the NBA, led by 4x Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert. Jokić scored 35 points in 39 minutes last night, securing the game-winning series tie. Jokić had seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and a block. Aaron Gordon had an outstanding performance, scoring 27 points on 11-of-12 shooting, and Jamal Murray added 19 points. The team got 27 combined points off the bench from Christian Braun, Justin Holiday, and Reggie Jackson. The near perfect performance secured a 115-107 Game 4 victory for the Nuggets.
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards displayed brilliance, playing his heart out and finishing with an impressive 44 points, 16-of-25 shooting for his third 40-point postseason game. He had 37 through the first three quarters alone and added five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block. But it was Mike Conley who was Minnesota's second-leading scorer with just 15 points. Karl-Anthony Towns was limited to 13 points on 5-of-18 shooting with 12 rebounds. Rudy Gobert chipped in 11 points and 14 rebounds. But it was the Nuggets who successfully combatted against this superior defense. Check out the highlights below to see how the Nuggets’ offense executed against the number one defense!
