NFL: INJURY REPORT, JimmyG and Lamar are OUT
SAN FRANCISCO - 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo out for season after a suffering broken foot vs. Miami Dolphins yesterday. Fans cringed as they watched their second QB of the year get carted off the field for the second time this season. Garoppolo filled in earlier this season for Trey Lance who faced a season-ending ankle injury. But worry not, as final pick in the 2022 Draft, Brock Purdy certainly left hope for the 9ers. The rookie came in with confidence as he quickly connected with his WR's resulting in a 33-17 victory against the Dolphins. Many wonder if QB Baker Mayfield will fill-in Jimmy's shoes as he’s now released from the Carolina Panthers, however, that sounds like a downgrade from Purdy. I am certain the 49er's are looking at all of their options, but our hopes is they give QB3 a chance, and stick with Purdy. Hey...New England did give 199th pick Tom Brady a chance, and look how that turned out! Purdy, finished 25 for 37 for 210 yards, two TDs and one interception.
Luckily not every team is having season-ending injuries, as Baltimore Raven's Lamar Jackson's knee injury is not, although there is no definitive timetable for the quarterback's return, coach John Harbaugh said after the Baltimore Ravens' 10-9 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Seems like a repeat of last year as Jackson was also injured in December when the Ravens sat atop the AFC North standings. We’re hoping for a speedy recovery for Lamar! This QB has more to prove this season.
