Olympian Tori Bowie Found Dead at 32

FLORIDA — Three-time track star and Olympic medalist Tori Bowie, 32, was found dead in her Florida home, officials said Wednesday following a wellness check. Bowie’s management announced her death on social media, causing shockwaves in the sport of Track & Field.

“We've lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sister," the sports agency that represented Bowie, Icon Management Inc., wrote on Twitter.

“Tori was a champion…a beacon of light that shined so bright! We’re truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends."

At this time, no cause of death was shared. The Orange County Sheriff's Department said the medical examiner's office will determine the cause. Additionally, the department said there were "no signs of foul play" but confirmed that any additional information on Bowie's cause of death would "need to come from" the medical examiner's office.

The Mississippi native sprinted to gold at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games anchoring for America's 4x100-meter relay. She had a smile you’ll never forget as she flaunted the American Flag celebrating her team’s big win.

Bowie’s impact in Track & Field is immeasurable, as she collected three Olympic medals and was crowned a two-time world champion. She won silver in the 100-meter sprint and bronze in the 200-meter at the 2016 Games. The track star was best known for anchoring America's 4x100-meter relay to gold in Brazil, leading a legendary squad of Tianna Bartoletta, Allyson Felix, and English Gardner.

The track star will be deeply missed, but her impact will never be forgotten.
