PHOENIX — Mavericks abruptly ended the Phoenix Suns' historic season with a 123-90 annihilation in Sunday's Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals. It was jam-packed and a sold-out stadium at the Footprint Center, many fans front and center to see a stunning blowout defeat against the Suns. In fact, we’re still rubbing our eyes checking to see if we’re seeing things correctly. But nope, you’re seeing it crystal-clear and we’re all in shock by the blow-out. TNT analyst, former Suns player, and admitted Suns fan, Charles Barkley was even in shock.

“I’m in shock,” said Charles Barkley. “No one saw this coming. Shout out to Luka.”

The Suns trailed Mavericks by 42 pts after 3 quarters. Yes, you read that right, Suns trailed the Mavericks by 42 pts 92-50. At this point, it was like watching a massacre and there was no mercy. It was an absolutely horrendous first half for Phoenix, and star player Luka Doncic of Dallas did not let up. The Mavericks lead the Suns 57-27 at halftime with Doncic tying the entire Suns team with 27 first half points. The stellar performance from Doncic had everyone picking their jaws up from the floor. Doncic finished the game with 35 pts, going 12-for-19 from the court. Spencer Dinwiddie added 30 pts and Jalen Brunson had 24. Well, what caused such a huge lead against the Suns? Well the stats will reveal it, and we’re warning you - brace yourselves, because it isn’t pretty.

Let’s get started. On the Suns, Cameron Johnson had 12 pts to lead Phoenix. Chris Paul only had 10 and Devin Booker only had 11. Let’s face it — Two star players having a combined total of 21 pts is certainly a problem. And that stat should not be taken lightly. To top it off, Deandre Ayton only had five points. There you have it, now things are a bit clearer but if you’re still rubbing your eyes with disbelief, we don’t blame you.

No worries, we still have time to recuperate for the Western Conference battle of the Dallas Mavericks vs. Golden State Warriors.
