Sydney McLaughlin BREAKS RECORD, again!
EUGENE, ORE — The 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist, Sydney McLaughlin, left us gasping for air as she broke her own record this Saturday at Hayward Field. Formerly holding the fastest Olympic record with the time of 51.46s, McLaughlin was not done as she ate up the 400m hurdles at the US track and field championships breaking her own record crossing the finish line in 51.41s. The track star left no crumbs! It’s Sydney vs. Sydney at this point and we’re eager for more. The humble track star shares after a historic run,
“I was just gonna finish the race. You know anything is possible," she said. "I'm just really grateful for it."
“Every time I come here I can just feel something amazing is going to happen.
McLaughlin isn’t done just yet, as the top three finishes in each track and field event will represent the U.S in the World Outdoor Champions, at Hayward Field next month. It’ll be a special day as this will be the first time that track and field’s biggest event besides the Olympics will be held in America.
But there you have it, there’s a new world record in 400m Hurdles and it’s set at 51.41s. Stay tuned with us to follow up on track and field’s biggest event next month!
