PHOENIX — It’s been a riveting week lined up with WNBA playoff games! But don’t worry, we got you covered! Let’s begin with the dominating Las Vegas Aces. The Aces won game one of their best-two-out-of-three First Round Playoff series on Wednesday evening. They finished the game with a victory 79-63 over the Phoenix Mercury. Guard, Kelsey Plum led scoring with 22 points—the 5th time in the last 6 playoff games that she has scored 20 or more points. Plum is on fire and we’re eager to watch game 2 tonight at 9pm EST.

Phoenix Mercury guard, Shey Peddy ruptured her right achilles, and is out for tonight’s game. This news has caused quite the buzz as Peddy’s presence on the court is impactful. Peddy went down on a non-contact play during the third quarter Wednesday and was carried off the court. It is a crucial game for the Mercury as they need a victory in Game 2 to keep their season going. Phoenix coach, Vanessa Nygaard spoke on the injury stating,

"It's been tough. This is a really big blow. Injuries are so hard for athletes, so to see one of their close friends get injured right in front of them, that's traumatic. We really tried to support them by giving them a little bit of space, a little more time off, so they could mentally regroup."
