NEW YORK - With only a few weeks left until the NFL season, we can barely contain the excitement especially after being occupied watching an impressive debut these few weeks. This preseason has us on the edge of our seats watching some exceptional performances from players who are fighting for a spot on the starting squad. Many are already causing quite the buzz as their names are plastered all over headlines this preseason, safe to say the anticipation for a great season is amongst us! Without further ado, here’s a look at a few names you’ll most likely hear often during this NFL season.

1) KaVontae Turpin, WR

After not one, but TWO electrifying punt returns that turned into touchdowns, Turpin solidified his spot on the Cowboys’ 53-man roster. It was a 98-yard touchdown against the Chargers on Saturday when Turpin made it known for opposing teams: he’s not the one to kick to. And he reminded the Chargers again, as he ran back a punt of 86-yards for yet another touchdown.

2) Devon Allen, WR

The Philadelphia Eagles WR, and a two-time Olympian, breezed past the Browns’ defense with ease this Sunday. There’s a reason Allen owns the third-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles at 12.84 seconds! The WR bolted past the Browns’ defensive backs scoring a 55-yard touchdown pass from Reid Sinnett.

3) Zion Johnson, OG

It’s safe to say the Chargers are thrilled with their first-round pick’s start. Johnson not only showcased his athleticism this preseason but also his outstanding in pass protection, getting up and under his assignment on just about every play, and he was efficient in the run game. This preseason Johnson has been dubbed the best o-lineman snagged in the first round! We can’t wait to see how this ages, so far Johnson is consistent this preseason.

4) Kenny Pickett, QB

Rookie Pickett for the Pittsburgh Steelers has showcased his skillset as a QB as his stats reveal he is 19 or 22 for 171 yards with three touchdowns and a 138.6 passer rating in two games. He's looking like the top quarterback on the Steelers, and we’re eager to see if they’ll start Mitchell Trubisky to begin the year.

5) Isaiah Likely, TE

Isaiah is most likely the best rookie TE we’ve seen this preseason! The Baltimore Ravens rookie had 8 catches for 100-yards, and a touchdown, all in 15 snaps against the Cardinals. This season we’re excited to see this young player ball out!
