Bronny James’ Debut with USC is Something Special

Los Angeles, CA — Bronny is back. Bronny James makes a special USC debut nearly five months after suffering from cardiac arrest during practice back in August. The news was shocking as the teen was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect - many wondered if basketball was still in the cards for him.

Throughout the game, you can see a happy LeBron James seated courtside, recording his son’s special day back on the court. Despite earlier health scares, Bronny looked confident during the USC match-up against Long Beach State and silenced the noise as he hustled up and down the court. The freshman guard came off the bench for the Trojans and put up four points, three rebounds, explosive defense, and two assists on Sunday. He logged 17 minutes, shooting 1-2 and hitting a three-pointer in the second half. His biggest impression came on defense: he had two steals and an explosive block. Despite losing in overtime 84-79, it was a remarkable comeback from a health scare that many would throw in the towel rather than take a chance.

"You've already won the ultimate goal/championship and that's LIFE!!! Proud of you kid and today you've given me more life! Thank you and I love you." - LeBron pens a proud caption on Instagram to Bronny James after his debut at USC.

Postgame, Bronny shouted out the medical professionals who helped him during this journey amongst others.

“I just want to say I’m thankful for everything,” said Bronny James to media.

Bronny thanked the Mayo Clinic, where he received treatment, his parents, siblings, coach Andy Enfield, and teammates during that difficult time.

We are excited to watch Bronny evolve as he’s only just begun.
