NFL Update: Cowboys Defeat Philly, Patrick Mahomes Meltdown - Here’s your Week 14 Update!
Arlington, TX — Just like that, the Dallas Cowboys are in first place with 10-3 in the NFC East after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 13-33. The Cowboys’ immaculate record at home continues at 8-0 after last night’s massive win against the Birds. It was a grueling night for Philly as quarterback Jalen Hurts recorded zero touchdowns and struggled to connect with his receivers all night. The Cowboys' offense looked great as quarterback Dak Prescott, who threw for 271 yards for 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions, rating 99.4. The defense was the true star of the night, allowing zero TDs. Veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore stole the show with massive stops all night, earning him Player of The Game with 9 sacks and 1 forced fumble. In addition to a solid performance by Dallas, their kicker, Brandon Aubrey, has an immaculate record with an accuracy of 100% kicking field goals. Aubrey nailed a 60-yarder with ease as he came clutch all season long. Safe to say, Dallas did what needed to be done all around.
Have the Eagles been Exposed?
After Sunday night’s blowout, the Eagles are looking sketchy. Besides the fact they got similarly blown out last week by the 49ers, things aren’t looking too well for them. The Eagles' loss to the Dallas Cowboys ties up the NFC East race with four games left, but the way the game played out has to be troubling for Philadelphia. I mean, are we entirely shocked? Philly lost to the New York Jets, their only loss earlier this season. As Philly’s remaining schedule is pretty easy, it could be a disaster awaiting us as we head into the playoffs. The Eagles are still projected to win the NFC East title. As the Dallas Cowboys’ schedule toughens up, Philly’s lightens up at a time when competition should be at the highest level, preparing teams for playoffs. Defeating the 49ers and sweeping Dallas this year was what Philly needed walking into their final four games.
Patrick Mahomes has a Meltdown Following Bills Loss.
Wow, the Kansas City Chiefs are making headlines, and it has nothing to do with Taylor Swift. It was a rare sight in Arrowhead Stadium as fans watched Patrick Mahomes throwing his helmet in a clear display of anger — the Chiefs Kingdom has hardly ever seen this reaction from their franchise quarterback, and safe to say, many of us haven’t. On Sunday, a frustrated Patrick Mahomes flooded headlines after his unusual outburst on the sidelines. Mahomes can be seen yelling angrily as his Kansas teammates hold him back after trying to approach the officials. The Chiefs quarterback was furious with officials after a late touchdown was negated, costing them the game 20-17 against the Buffalo Bills.
Seconds left of the game and the Bills up by three points, Mahomes completed a much-needed throw to tight-end Travis Kelce, who avoided a tackle by tossing the football to wide-receiver Kadarius Toney, who went into the end-zone for what would’ve been the game-winning touchdown. The celebration lasted a few seconds as a penalty flag was thrown. The crowd grew silent as a replay revealed that Toney was offside before the play. But it was the correct call, whether head coach Andy Reid and Mahomes see it differently. Following the huge upset, the Buffalo Bills will prepare for a Sunday afternoon game against the Dallas Cowboys.
