Connecticut Sun Force Game 4

Connecticut Sun has shown resilience after facing elimination four times this year in the WNBA playoffs, and every time, they have responded with a convincing win to stay alive. Las Vegas Aces have made their mark as the team to beat after having a phenomenal season. On Thursday, the Sun bounced back from two losses in Las Vegas to rout the Aces 105-76 at home in Game 3 of the Finals. Their game plan was on point as they outscored Vegas 64-26 in the paint and had six players with double figures. The magnitude of the victory was scoring 64 points in the paint, making that the largest in a WNBA Finals elimination game!

Connecticut made several key adjustments in Game 3, assigning 6-foot-4 DeWanna Bonner to guard the unstoppable Chelsea Gray. Gray scored only 11 points after averaging 23.3 over her first eight games in the playoffs. The Aces must make the needed adjustments to be prepared for Game 4. Coach of the year, Becky Hammon of the Aces released a statement:

“If you could encapsulate Connecticut, it’s physical and very resilient,” Aces coach Becky Hammon said. “They’re physical, and they’re resilient, and they have a kind of a battle-type mentality.”

Putting a stop to the nearly unstoppable Guard Kelsey Pum seems to be a massive game-changer for Connecticut Sun, as well as getting points in the paint. Plum believes Aces need to be more physical and try to keep the Sun’s Alyssa Thomas out of the high post. Thomas operated with intensity on Thursday, passing the ball to teammates or driving to the basket. She ended up with the first triple-double in WNBA Finals history, scoring 16 points, grabbing 15 rebounds, and passing for 11 assists.

Our eyes will be glued to screens this Sunday @ 4 pm EST to tune into Game 4!
