Sha'Carri Richardson makes Women's 100m Semis as fastest Qualifier at Track Worlds Championship
BUDAPEST, HU — Trackstar Sha’Carri Richardson easily galloped over the finish line with an early celebration placing first in her heat this Sunday in Budapest, Hungary. It was Richardson’s debut in the World Championships, where she ran under 11 seconds. Richardson posted the fastest time of the 100m heats at track and field's 2023 World Athletics Championships clocking in at 10.92.

The stars were out in Budapest as Julien Alfred of St Lucia led the way in the opening heat, clocking a 10.99 to begin proceedings. Poland's Ewa Swoboda was the third sub-11 runner at 10.98.
Additionally, reigning world champion Jamaican star Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce qualified from Heat 7 with an 11.01, while her teammate Shericka Jackson was also an automatic qualifier, winning Heat 4 in 11.06. Great Britain's 2019 world champion Dina Asher-Smith also made it to the semi-finals, finishing second in her heat in 11.04 seconds.
