NBA: Denver Nuggets Sweep Lakers as They Head to NBA Finals

LOS ANGELES, CA — No one saw a sweep coming, or did we? After Nikola Jokić’s impeccable performance throughout this entire series, it was no shock he kept up the momentum and is bringing the Denver Nuggets to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. The nailbiting series was certainly one for the books, but once Lakers star LeBron James walked off his home court flabbergasted, losing 113-111 on Monday, the emotions were visibly running high for the big man. After a rocky start in the regular season, the Lakers took a massive turn and headed to the final stretch of the Playoffs but came up short following a four-game sweep ending their season. Denver has the Lakers star contemplating on his next move in the NBA, as James touched on retirement. James spoke to the press about his thought process going into the offseason.

“Personally, going forward with the game of basketball, I got a lot to think about.”

LeBron James was asked to go into depth on this statement by ESPN, and when asked if he would walk away? James made no promises, stating, "I got to think about it."

Nonetheless, James’ decision to continue with his goated career is still up in the air as the King has to sort things out pertaining to his future. As of now, the focus remains on the Nuggets. The Nuggets have set the tone, but it has been a Jokić show for this entire playoff series as he’s continued his historic run to the NBA Finals. And it’s also no shock that it was Jokić who was named the most valuable player of the Western Conference finals. Denver’s next stop will be to face the winner of the Eastern Conference finals between Boston and the Heat. Miami Heat is currently leading the series 3-0 and looking to take the win tonight.
