Tom Brady Announces Retirement
TAMPA BAY — But are you shocked? After a tough season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 7-time Super Bowl champ and 5-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, 45, has announced he's 'retiring for good'’ Brady uploaded a video to social media Wednesday morning announcing his retirement for the second time. We all recall the last time he made an announcement, but only six weeks later, he had a change of heart and returned to the league. But don’t fret, this time, he’s done for good.
"Good morning, guys, I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring for good,” Brady said.
“I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I just press record and let you guys know first. I won’t be long-winded. You only get one super-emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year.”
The news stirs precisely one year after his first retirement announcement on Feb. 1, 2022. However, Brady said he would return to the Buccaneers in early March for a 23rd season. Despite his indecisiveness on and off the field, Brady and his wife, Gisele Bundchen, confirmed their divorce in late October amid months of reports about their relationship following Brady’s decision to continue playing.
We have to ask…are you expecting a ‘return to the league announcement’ in March?
